The United States, the Government of Jordan, and non-governmental organizations are working together to expand access to women’s and children’s health services.
Under the Patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Dead Sea Hotels, in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), launched the IHG Dead Sea Hotels Training Academy today.
U.S. and Jordanian officials signed four grant documents totaling $786.8 million at a ceremony in Amman on Sunday, October 23. In the presence of U.S. Ambassador Alice G. Wells and Prime Minister Hani Mulki, the grants were signed by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Jim Barnhart and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury at the Prime Ministry. The $786.8 million is in addition to the $25 million in grant funds obligated in August to support the economic growth projects under the World Bank.
Today, a total of 327 student from 18 Jordanian universities celebrated their graduation from the youth leadership program, Usharek+. Students gathered at Ras Al Ein Gallery in downtown Amman, and exhibited their campaigns to more than 200 guests and attendees from different organizations and universities.
USAID Takamol, a five year USAID Funded program implemented by IREX, will host a two day conference next week to raise awareness of key policies and interventions aimed at increasing Women’s Economic Participation in Jordan.
