USAIDs Community Collaboration Activity is designed to promote the accountability of local governments and help build greater social cohesion in Kosovo municipalities by bringing together the government, civil society, and citizens of all identity groups to prioritize and address community needs. Community Collaboration Activity will achieve this goal through awarding small grants to motivated locally based entities and offering tailored organizational capacity building assistance to grantees. This approach will create a cadre of local organizations that seek accountability from their respective local governments and unite their communities around issues of common concern.
Expected Results
During two grant application rounds, USAID through Community Collaboration Activity will issue up to 20 small grants to eligible entities which contribute to the following results:
· Greater citizen involvement in identifying and solving local community challenges (with a special focus on women, youth and other underrepresented citizens);
· Enhanced multiethnic collaboration around community issues in the Kosovo context;
· Better collaboration between citizens and municipal governments;
· Improved citizen satisfaction with performance of their municipalities.
