Today, Chief Assistant to the Acting Deputy Administrator Max Primorac and the Deputy Director-General for Planning of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Ali Abdulla Al-Dabbagh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and QFFD.

The United States and the State of Qatar share common goals of enhancing stability, security, and prosperity in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world. This MOU strengthens the U.S.-Qatar partnership by providing a framework for future collaboration between USAID and QFFD to advance their shared development goals. The agreement marks yet another milestone in USAID’s strategic engagement with Persian Gulf donors.

QFFD is a consistent leader in development and humanitarian response across the Middle East and North Africa. USAID looks forward to coordinating with our Qatari counterparts to identify opportunities for cooperation in development and humanitarian assistance, including in the areas of education, energy, finance, and health. USAID and QFFD are especially interested in expanding access to energy in countries in which the United States and Qatar have mutual economic and national-security interests.
