USAID’s maternal and child health (MCH) programs in Tanzania support activities in line with the Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Mortality Initiative, which prioritizes improved health for the most vulnerable women, girls, newborns, and children under five. At the national level, USAID provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children on the mainland and Zanzibar to enable the delivery of life-saving interventions for mothers, newborns, and children.
