The Vietnam Authority for HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC)’s Annual U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) ARV Procurement Plan was approved on April 25, 2017. This plan, developed with assistance from the USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management Project, will support four quarterly antiretroviral drug orders in 2017 that include procurement, importation and distribution to treatment facilities and has a total value of $10.4 million. Following a review by multiple departments of the Ministry of Health (MOH) - including the Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), the plan was finally approved in accordance with the Government of Vietnam’s legislative decision 1602/QD-BYT for the procurement and importation of ARV drugs with PEPFAR support in 2017.
