Craig Wolf is the General Counsel of the U.S. Agency for International Development.

After spending a year in private practice following law school, Craig served for five years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Allegany County Maryland and over three years as a Trial Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, where he specialized in the prosecution of sexual exploitation and abuse of women and children.  He subsequently was detailed to Capitol Hill as Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he successfully coordinated the passage of legislation protecting children from sexual predators.

In 2000, Craig was hired as the General Counsel to the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, where he led the organization’s legal and regulatory strategy and handled in-house matters.  In 2007, Craig was named President & CEO of that organization, a position he held until 2018.  In that role, he was the voice of the organization with elected officials, regulators, the law enforcement community and the media, advocating for legislation, regulation and public policy that promoted a responsible and accountable system for the distribution of beverage alcohol.

In 2003, Craig joined the U.S. Army JAG Corps at the age of 40 in order to do his part to help defend America in the wake of 9/11.  He is a decorated Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).  He was recently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and is currently assigned as Chief International Law Officer with the 352nd Civil Affairs Command.  

Craig is a graduate of Dickinson College and the University of Baltimore School of Law.
