Identifying people and processes for maintaining energy delivery is just as important as the initial system design.
Electricity access enhances access to quality essential health-care services while making health systems more resilient. Other benefits include lighting; facilitation of information, communication and technology; enhanced staff retention; and faster and more accurate laboratory testing. This report uses case studies to highlight the types of off-grid solar delivery models that contribute to or hinder sustainability in health care. The purpose of the report is to help decision makers in the public and private sector design sound off-grid electrification projects for rural health centers by helping them evaluate the most effective and appropriate delivery model for their specific country context.
