BELGRADE – On October 26, 2020, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Rule of Law Project, in cooperation with the Belgrade Higher Court, organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Information Point installed in the court’s lobby so that citizens can easily obtain all information necessary related to their interactions with the court, and have access to educational and informative materials.
Belgrade - On October 9, 2020, the Coalition for Giving and the Serbian Philanthropy Forum marked the third National Day of Giving, with support from the United States Agency of International Development (USAID). An accompanying month-long media campaign Serbia Without Barriers will help raise awareness about the position of people with disabilities in our society and the importance of equality.
BACKGROUND
The Strategic Advocacy Approaches project is a 4.5-year, $2 million initiative intended to improve cooperation between citizens, civil society and government on identified issues of concern, therefore strengthening participatory democracy in Serbia. The project will help improve the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to strategically implement advocacy initiatives, engage citizens and mobilize local resources. The project will also help advance the enabling environment for advocacy in Serbia.
BACKGROUND
The USAID Serbia Energy Efficiency Activity (SEEA) is a two-year, $1.1 million activity intended to reduce gas fuel consumption and dependency on imported fuel through improved energy efficiency in the provision of heating at the local level. SEEA aims to improve the efficiency of Serbian district heating systems by decreasing the amount of fuel required to meet consumers’ heating needs.
