With support from the USAID Sustainable HIV Response from Technical Assistance (SHIFT) Project, Nghe An province formally decided to cover the purchase of social health insurance (SHI) cards and the required 20 percent copayment for antiretroviral (ARV) drugs for all HIV patients.

Since 2015, USAID’s Governance for Inclusive Growth (GIG) Project has worked with the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM), the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Administrative Procedure Control Agency to revise Circular 07/2012/TT-BCT.  This circular sets energy efficiency labeling requirements for importing electrical  equipment, such as electric fans,  refrigerators, and printers. Consultations with businesses revealed that the administrative procedures were burdensome and created excessive costs for importers.

With technical assistance from the USAID SHIFT Project, and in collaboration with the USAID Community HIV Link and USAID Healthy Markets projects, mobile teams from the Nghe An Department of Health (DOH) and Dien Bien Provincial AIDS Center (PAC) reached and tested 435 members of key populations, and enrolled 77 people living with HIV (PLHIV) on antiretroviral therapy.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in collaboration with Bhaya Group, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Ltd., and the Ha Long City People’s Committee today organized a coastal clean-up called “Alliance’s action for a Green Ha Long” as part of the Ha Long-Cat Ba Alliance, a three-year initiative financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
