(118k) INVEST: Our Partner Network
USAID INVEST IS A FLEXIBLE, EFFICIENT BUY-IN MECHANISM THAT HELPS USAID MISSIONS, BUREAUS, AND INDEPENDENT OFFICES WORK WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
INVEST reduces barriers for investors and other private sector actors so that USAID and the investment community can work together to solve development challenges. As of April 2020, INVEST has mobilized $68 million of private capital for development.
INVEST is a New Partner Facilitation Model, in which the INVEST mechanism, implemented by DAI, is the Facilitating Partner. New Partner Facilitation Models follow the umbrella approach to partnering in which the Facilitating Partner uses subawards to build a network of partners with specialized expertise. INVEST streamlines procurement, simplifies the subcontracting process, and helps new firms navigate USAID requirements, thereby making it easier for these new partners to work with the Agency.
The Partner Network consists of more than 240 firms and organizations from both the development and investment community. The partners have expertise in 12 regions and 13 sectors and work in 195 countries. Each member brings specialized expertise and resources from multiple sectors and geographies. Through this network, USAID can tap into the niche technical and financial expertise needed to solve development challenges with market-driven solutions.
As the Facilitating Partner, INVEST operates as a hub, connecting its buy-in clients with members of this network and mentoring the new partners to ensure that they successfully meet the benchmarks and objectives of USAID.
