The Constituencies for Judicial Reform in Serbia project is a three-year, $1.2 million initiative to strengthen citizens' confidence in their judicial institutions by improving communication between citizens and the judiciary. The project is implemented by a coalition of 12 prominent professional associations and Civil Society Organizations that partner with 15 Basic Courts in Serbia.
The Government Accountability Initiative is a four-year, $8.5 million activity that works with key Serbian stakeholders to increase government accountability at the national and local levels.
The Strategic Advocacy Approaches project is a 4.5-year, $2 million initiative intended to improve cooperation between citizens, civil society and government on identified issues of concern, therefore strengthening participatory democracy in Serbia. The project will help improve the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to strategically implement advocacy initiatives, engage citizens and mobilize local resources. The project will also help advance the enabling environment for advocacy in Serbia.
The USAID Para-fiscals Reform Activity is a two-year, $444,000 initiative that partners with the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Serbia to support the reform of Serbia’s non-fiscal revenue system through reforms of the regulatory environment related to non-tax levies, such as charges and fees (including things like fees for business signage, different fees for different national and subnational administrative services, etc). Given that one of previous activities helped regulating charges this project addresses and focuses on fees.
The Framework for Giving Activity broadens and strengthens philanthropy and charitable giving in Serbia. The activity focuses on deepening cross-sector partnerships, improves the legal and policy framework to make giving easier and more transparent, and increases public awareness of philanthropy efforts in Serbia.
