Pester plateau, in south-west Serbia, can be described as a page out of a fairy-tale.  It is a vast space of seemingly endless flowing pastures, populated with flocks of sheep, cows and horses, surrounded by seven mountains. USAID-supported Food Hubs Help Local Producers Bring New Products to Market

BELGRADE – On December 6, 2018, USAID’s Competitive Economy Project held a networking brunch and a panel discussion to mark the completion of the first cycle of the Premium Food Design Hub (PFDH) initiative, launched to kick-start innovation in Serbia’s food processing industry. Over the past eight months, four hubs - Impact Hub, Nova Iskra, Desing Taste Center and Business Innovation Programs - worked with 20 food producers to develop new, premium products targeting consumers in domestic and international markets.

USAID and Seven Local Governments Partner to Enhance Good Governance and Fight Corruption

Belgrade, November 16 – The mayors of Šabac, Vranje, Sombor, Vrnjačka Banja, Sjenica, Raška, and Dimitrovgrad, along with Mr. Mike de la Rosa, Director of USAID Serbia, signed Memoranda of Cooperation today to increase transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in decision making in order to decrease corruption. Mr. Branko Ruzic, Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government witnessed the signings, and representatives from the State Audit Institution and the Anti-Corruption Agency joined the event to show their support.
