The USAID Competitive Economy Project (Project) is a four-year, $12 million activity to strengthen the competitiveness of the Serbian food processing industry, particularly the fruit and vegetable value chains. The Project aims to increase sales and exports of Serbian food products on local and international markets.
BACKGROUND
The Government Accountability Initiative is a four-year, $8.5 million activity that works with key Serbian stakeholders to increase government accountability at the national and local levels.
Belgrade - On May 15, 2018, the United States Government and the Government of Serbia signed agreements under which the United States will provide $22 million in assistance to Serbia. These funds will be used to help make Serbia's economy more competitive, strengthen the rule of law, bolster government operations, improve the media regulatory environment, and combat corruption.
Belgrade – On April 25, 2018, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the European Movement in Serbia released the Gray Book of Public Services. The Gray Book contains research findings about Serbia’s public services and recommendations for improving their quality, efficiency and accessibility. The book is one of the results of the USAID-funded Partnership for Good Governance activity, which was implemented by the European Movement in Serbia and the Center for European Policy.
TUTIN – On April 12, 2018, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a U.S. government agency, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Serbia inaugurated a new, 200 cubic meter reservoir in Tutin.
