USAID’s Business Enabling Project Releases Results of Seventh Annual Business Survey

On October 25, 2017, U.S. Ambassador Kyle Scott and Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlović shared the results of the USAID Business Enabling Project’s (BEP’s) Seventh Annual Business Survey. The survey of 1,000 Serbian companies helps identity key challenges to Serbia’s economic development and establish priorities for economic reforms. BEP conducted the survey in cooperation with IPSOS Strategic Marketing and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

USAID and UNDP Open Sports Field in Lajkovac

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the U.S. government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) officially inaugurated a newly constructed sports field in the town of Lajkovac, to be used by children from the nearby kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school, as well as refugee and migrant children from the Asylum Center in Bogovadja, Lajkovac municipality.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the U.S. government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) officially inaugurated the renovated “Maslačak” Kindergarten in the village of Basaid in the Kikinda municipality. The kindergarten has begun normal operations and will be used for events benefiting both local and migrant children.

High Court Council and USAID Celebrate Advances in Judicial Reform

On September 19, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a U.S. government agency, and the High Court Council (HCC) of Serbia celebrated the achievements of USAID’s “Institutional Strengthening of the High Court Council” activity—a $500,000 project to support Serbia’s judicial reform efforts.
